The Sun magazine have been described in many ways; celebratory, fierce, unflinching, thoughtful, truthful, dark, funny, etc.
They publish nonfiction, fiction and poetry. They tend to favour personal writing, but they are also looking for provocative pieces on political and cultural issues. They rarely run anything longer than 7,000 words; there is no minimum length.
They discourage simultaneous submissions.
What they pay:
Nonfiction – $300 – $2,000
Fiction – $300 – $2,000
Poetry – $100 – $250.
